Nail Art Through the Ages-1940's Inspired Nail Art

Hey Y'all! I recently got the opportunity to participate in a HUGE collaboration with dollface22772 on youtube! This was great fun! The theme for the collaboration was nail art through the ages. We were asked to come up with designs based on a specific decade. I requested the 1940's as my inspiration. Be sure to check out all the other fabulous designs for each era!

To create this look, I used a purple glitter mix and a lilac lace ribbon. I created a white and purple flower with a lilac swarovski crystal as the decoration. I hope you all enjoy this design!

Red Hot Diamonds

Hey y'all! This design was inspired by several different youtube users. Creating this design is one of the things that made me decide on the theme for my youtube contest. Please be sure to enter! I'll do a seperate post for that. Im so sorry I am behind posting here on my blog. I also posted an update video that you can check out. In that I explain what is keeping me from posting as of late.

Anyways...let's get to the inspiration for this design! First thing that made me want to try this design was the red & yellow mylar flakes I received from designernailvideos contest. I could not wait to try the awesome prizes I won in her contest! don't forget that you can get most of the products I won from her website Designer Nail Supply! The ladies that inspired my abstract design were configure1973 for her suberb freehand and also madamluck for turning me on to the $ tree nail art stripers. the half moon tips were inspired by andreajk182, she also has an online nail supply store The Rock Star Nails so be sure to check her out!

Recently, I have subbed to a lovely lady hairtrends4u who has a channel focusing on hair, fashion and general life advice. She also has a website Hairtrends4u where she offers wigs, handbags, shoes, accessories & more!!! Be sure to visit =D
Her outfits of the day got me inspired to do a design in the colors yellow & red and I wanted to make a design for her that would match some of her outfits since she is celebrated reachin 1,000 subbies =D . She also inspired the swarovski crystals because she calls her subbies Diamonds.

Another huge inspiration for this design was dollface22772s recent super hot Bonfire design! Soon as I saw it the mylar popped right in my head. God I really love her work and she is cool as ice =D She always inspires us all on youtube and I am still giddy at the fact that she made partner! One thing I was sad about was that I had to take off that falling hearts design a week early cs I wont have time to do my nails this weekend cs I gotta work & me & hubby got a date to the Bob Marly festival =D YAY Roots, rock, reggae mon LOL But anyway...she sells the cutest vintage style jewlry in her Etsy store Littlest Charm Factory. So check it out. Ive got my eye on that angry skull ring. Feels so tokidoki =D

Well ladies I hope you all enjoy this design. There's only one thing I don't like about it...my stupid freehand reminds me of mcdonalds XDDD or ketsup & mustard hehehe. Can you tell Im sleep deprived???

Falling Hearts

Hey y'all! This is my recent design. I call it falling hearts. I had a catastrophe while converting the video I did doing my nails unfortunately...I have been trying to get my videos to process in HD and the files are very large. I didn't know that they would just convert over the old ones when I ran outta space on the card! Sooooo the first half got deleted so I got mad & deleted it all! LOL! I ended up doing it over on a practice nail.

To create this design I used the periwinkle mylar flakes that I won in Dollface22772's 3D Extravaganza nail art contest. They are sooooo pretty & my nails look like glass! I wish that the pictures could do justice! Thank you so much Dolly! I love them! Y'all be sure to check out her blog and Etsy store The Littlest Charm Factory! I also used they pink & purple hollow hearts I got from Karlinsu and the small pink & purple small hexagon glitters.

I hope y'all love it!

Black Star

OMG!!! This post is so totally late! I was trying to wait till I took pictures of the items I used but I haven't had the time. So I didn't want to wait any longer to post this design. I am soooo sorry about that. I'll be doing a haul video to update y'all on my collection additions. It's getting to be a lot so I guess it's about time.

To create this design I used the flesh colored acrylic that I made a while ago and used on the Royal Rose design. This time I added some white acylic to the mix and the results were much better looking. Still just a tad too dark for the practice finger, but perfect for me. Then I used black acrylic for the tip. I glued black tulle over the flesh acrylic to look like fishnet stockings. Next I applied gold glitter and a few stars on the tip of the nail. Next I used glue to apply hollow black stars & their centers over the fishnet and used gold ribbon to create the manicure line. After encapsulating the nail with clear acrylic, I finished the look by applying black star rhinestones over the gold ribbon. I hope you enjoy this design!

Royal Rose Wedding Design

Hey Y'all! This is another wedding look I created. I'm liking this one much better. It's pretty simple and didn't take very long. I just want to note something about this design. For the nail bed, I used an acrylic mix that I made with foundation. I got the idea from pursebuzz. She made a tutorial showing how to make a nude polish using foundation so I wanted to try it out. I know it looks weird on the practice nail =P and I think it's a bit dark for me but I'll see how it looks lightened up a bit.

Anyway, for this look I used the same glitter mixes as I did for the last design so you can check out the details on that post. I did take better pics of the stuff I used for each mix and they're pretty self explanatory.

Well I'll keep it short Ladies, I've got to get to bed. I'll be off for a week so I'll be doing a lot more design. PLUS...Dollface is having an awesome 3D Extravaganza Nail Art contest so I'll be working hard on that!!!! I'm so freakin excited!!!

Spring Sakura

Hey Ladies! This design was inspired by the pictures I took the weekend before last. I haven't figured how to pull off the puffy blossoms, but I had to have a Sakura design for this spring! I love the way it turned out & I hope you do too!

To create this design I used fine turquoise glitter mixed with acrylic. I also used small and large hexagon glitter in the same shade under the acrylic. That and the fuchsia mini beads were part of the glitter collection I got from Tamanala and the fimo I got from depalace-store. To create the Sakura blossoms, I used the 3D nail art molds I got from Noxandra. I also used an expensive monomer made by A.S.P. because the cheap kind that I normally use causes the large hexagon glitters to bleed. =( To be honest...I think I might have to spend more because the application is just so much more smooth! I didn't like it for sculpting though because it didn't harden fast enough along with the fact that it gets too smooth for that.

I must apologize because I promised to make a tutorial on how I prep my nails, but that turned out to be a fail! XD But I will definitely make one and I will show you all how I remove my tips as well. Thanks again for bein so patient with me. In the meantime myglitternails is a great nail artist on youtube that has created one for nail removal and nail prep that are very helpful.

Until next time Ladies! Enjoy your week and take care!
